Columba is a B2B managed marketplace where businesses find and form partnerships with specialist marketing agencies.

Currently, the way brands find and hire marketing agencies is a long winded, underperforming operation that’s old, slow and yields poor results.

We’re on a journey to change those poor results, and in the process we intend to change the way businesses buy services from businesses. We’re starting with marketing services.

With plans to supplement our existing agency sourcing service with an extensive agency directory, Columba is currently moving into the next phase of our journey as a startup.

With recent seed funding of £225,000, the goal is now to identify how to scale elements of the business and achieve the next phase of growth.

Columba is not focussed on a quick win. We believe in learning, insight and the long road to success!

Overview of who you are!

Columba is looking for an ambitious, proactive and driven Marketing Manager to join the team and help manage digital marketing activity.

As a young team that’s growing quickly, culture is key and Columba are looking to bring on someone that is hungry to learn and grow with the business.

This role is varied, so while the focus is on supporting the commercial development of Columba through marketing, you’ll have countless opportunities to contribute to and shape other areas of the business.

We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience in a variety of marketing disciplines and a clear, up to date understanding of the latest B2B digital marketing trends, tools and best practices.

Above all else, you should be willing to get your hands dirty, whether it’s writing outreach emails, reviewing metrics within analytics to glean new insights, or working with our developers to shape the UX of the website.

Key areas of focus

Funnels / Lead generation
A principal focus within the role is to own the development and scaleup of marketing funnels and lead generation as a whole. As a business, we’re working to develop robust funnels to support our sales, and no channel or marketing is out of bounds if it delivers results.

Your remit ultimately is to identify the most promising marketing approaches and channels, distil them into effective marketing funnels, and scale our marketing efforts accordingly.

As a result, we are looking for someone who is comfortable with getting hands on with data and website analytics, and is used to working iteratively. Testing ideas should be as second nature to you as it is to us.

To assist with this, you will have strong support from our growing development team, and we expect technology to be at the heart of our funnels.

While we expect you to work closely with our development and content marketing teams,, ultimately the website and its performance as a marketing tool falls under your remit. As a result, you’ll be familiar enough with UX design principles to ensure our developers deliver a website that converts.

Similarly, you will have hands-on experience with Google Analytics, from setting up segments and goal funnels, through reporting on KPIs over time.

CRO and AB Testing
Testing is key to Columba culture, and at start-up like Columba, it pays to be able to validate or invalidate ideas quickly. From AB testing outreach email sequences to launching website experiments, you will be responsible for ensuring that testing lies at the heart of Columba’s culture.

  • Clear understanding of B2B marketing
  • Demonstrable knowledge of SEO and Performance Marketing
  • Demonstrable understanding of website UX best practices
  • Proven track record of using analytics or data to solve marketing problems
  • Proven track record of developing marketing funnels
  • Hands on experience of setting up and managing paid ad campaigns is essential
  • Understanding of iterative & agile work methodology
  • Experience within a marketing agency is preferred
